Geography Subject Leaders and interested Teachers in all Primary, Infant and Junior schools

Course Outline and Purpose:
Training from the Geographical Association Jon Cannell

30th September 1.30 to 3.30pm
followed By
2 twilights 21st October & 4th November 4-5.30pm 

These meetings provide updates and CPD for Geography to support the Primary Curriculum. They also offer colleagues the opportunity to engage in professional dialogue and share good practice around meeting common challenges.

These are termly meetings to support the continuing professional development of Primary Geography leaders in schools and support them in meeting the challenges of their post.

The agenda will vary according to the time of year and the networks priorities but will cover a range of the following:

Geography content and skill?

Creating a vision for Geography (Intent of the curriculum)

Updates and developments

Investigating assessment opportunities

Opportunities to share good practice

Sharing current curriculum maps

Wider curriculum and enrichment opportunities

Training and development on subject specific pedagogy
