This course will explore how to challenge the more able mathematicians in key stage 1. We will unpick ‘greater depth’ and consider the challenges of capturing evidence to support assessment judgements.

COURSE OUTLINE AND PURPOSE:

To develop skills and strategies to effectively manage the increasingly complex behaviours exhibited by pupils by considering: factors that contribute to those behaviours; guiding principles of Positive Behaviour Management; the communication gap; rules, rewards and consequences and anger management techniques.

 

Applicants who secure a place will need to attend both sessions which are scheduled from 1.00-3.30pm.

Code: ENF/20/19 Makaton Follow Up Workshop - DAY 2 HAS BEEN SUSPENDED


Course outline AND PURPOSE:

This is an intensive 2-day course, accredited by The Makaton Charity. The course is designed to follow on from the Beginners Workshop. The course will enable participants to use prescribed Makaton signs, symbols together with speech to support and develop children’s Language and communication skills. The course will enable participants to aid, support and accelerate the development of language and communication skills, of individuals and groups of children. The course will also enable the participants to personalise vocabulary for their user.


The course consists of 4 modules created by Makaton; each module must be completed as set out by the Makaton Charity in order for the participant to receive their Makaton Certificate.


In order to ensure high quality training our Licensed Tutors will adhere to Makaton’s guidelines. To attend a Follow Up Workshop you must have completed a Makaton Beginners Workshop within the last 5 years your Beginner’s Workshop Certificate must be emailed to gina.andreou@enfield.gov.uk one month before the course. It is advised that you refresh yourself with signs and symbols from the Beginners Workshop to avoid frustration.
