COURSE OUTLINE AND PURPOSE:
This network has been developed by EYSI in response to requests from staff supporting pupils with Down’s Syndrome, and is back by popular demand. It provides a forum to develop and share ideas and strategies, and to gain advice. Staff will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of the difficulties faced by pupils with Down’s Syndrome in the school environment, and develop their skills in supporting them.Essential Information
A reading comprehension intervention for pupils in KS2 and KS3 who have age appropriate decoding skills but who are experiencing difficulty acquiring full meaning and enjoyment from their reading.
This one and a half day training programme will give you all the skills you need to deliver high quality Inference Intervention.
On the morning of the first day, Teaching Assistants must be acccompanied by the school Literacy Co-ordinator, SENCO or Senior teacher who will be responsible for setting up and overseeing the intervention (if they have not already attended this half day session).Essential Information
We will explore the ethos and objectives of the 2014 maths curriculum and explore progression within place value and number, including fractions, developing conceptual understanding and opportunities for deeper, rich mathematical tasks. We will also develop participants’ understanding of Variation Theory to enable them to design carefully crafted lessons.
