COURSE OUTLINE AND PURPOSE:
This is a 2 day ENGLISH course. Participants are expected to attend both days and complete a gap task.
This course now incorporates the ReBeL (reading between the lines) modules for developing READING COMPREHENSION.
We will look at the statutory requirements of the curriculum and consider assessment procedures. This will include a detailed gap analysis of the 2019 reading paper and exploration of reading comprehension strategies. We will develop ways of accelerating progress for all pupils, with a focus on assessment and data analysis. Teachers will need to bring current assessment data for reading, writing and maths.
This day prepares year 6 teachers for the KS2 SATs and writing TA moderation. We will discuss the formalities of testing, explore relevant supportive material and consider how to plan from test analysis. Teachers will need to bring current assessment data for reading, writing and maths as well as KS1 data. Please also bring literacy and numeracy books representing the ability ranges in the class.
There will be a separate course for Yikes! Year 6 Maths
